RVA is looking for an Engineering Designer to join their Transportation team in our London office in a full-time permanent position.

Duties:

• Assist in preparing designs for transportation projects, including roads, rail, storm / sanitary sewers, watermains and other infrastructure.
• Draft transportation plans, sections, and details for transportation construction drawings.
• Design and edit drawings in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads as required.
• Identify property and utility relocation requirements for construction.
• Works closely with project managers, senior and intermediate engineers, and other members of the team to help develop designs, reports, contract documentation and provide support as necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned/required and appropriate to this position.
• May be required to work on site for periods of time as a Site Inspector during construction season(s), under the supervision of a Contract Administrator.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university is a must.
• 0-3 years’ engineering experience is preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Possess a strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients.
• Experience or aptitude for meeting timelines and budgets, proposal writing, client development and other skills appropriate to consulting engineering.
• Proven capabilities in writing reports and other technical documents.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
• Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to provide personal transportation to site, if necessary or as needed.
