Job Purpose
Bee Me Kidz (BMK) is a nonprofit educational organization committed to empowering elementary-aged children and their families with essential social and emotional skills for lifelong success.
BMK Educational Support Staff are part-time staff members who are a part of the Saturday team. This individual is expected to be a compassionate and positive individual who makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children in the community in a fun and interactive setting.
Saturday Roles
1. Classroom Teacher
· Set up classrooms with necessary materials before the program begins.
· Deliver the PATHS lesson of the day using engaging methods such as games, art, books, music, and other creative tools (training provided).
· Foster a nurturing and supportive environment that ensures the constant supervision, safety, and well-being of all children.
· Encourage positive social-emotional development and model respectful behavior.
· Support transitions between activities and maintain a structured, fun learning environment.
2. Kitchen Worker
· Assist with the preparation, cooking, organization, and timeline of everything coming in and out.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, following food safety guidelines.
· Clean up after meals, including dishwashing and sanitizing surfaces.
3. Program Setup/Takedown
· Set up common areas with necessary materials and equipment before the program begins.
· Ensure all spaces are welcoming, safe, and ready for children and families.
· Assist with takedown and cleanup at the end of the day, including organizing supplies and resetting the space.
· Provide general support throughout the day as needed to ensure smooth program operations.
Saturday Responsibilities
· Create a nurturing and supportive environment that ensures the constant supervision, safety, and overall well-being of all children in the program.
· Adhere to all policies, procedures, and standards established by Bee Me Kidz and the School District.
· Assist with the family brunch program, including cooking, serving, and cleaning
duties.
· Support children and families during mealtimes in a friendly and respectful manner.
· Demonstrate strong teamwork by fostering a supportive environment and maintaining confidentiality and respect for all individuals in the program.
· Support various aspects of program operations, including classroom activities, kitchen tasks, and program setup and takedown.
· Arrive on time each Saturday, having reviewed weekly emails and communications to be fully prepared for your assigned tasks
Education and Experience
· Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Early Childhood Education Certificate/Diploma, or equivalent relevant experience.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching or working in a childcare or early learning environment.
Certifications and Requirements
· Valid First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
· Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (required upon hiring).

· Committed to a part-time schedule (up to 8-hour shifts on Saturdays, 22 Saturdays throughout the school year).
Working Conditions
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
· Must be physically able to lift and carry supplies and equipment (up to 40 lbs).
· May be required to stand, walk, or engage in physical activity for extended periods during program delivery.
Additional Considerations
Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in teaching or supporting social and emotional learning. Candidates who reside in the community being served may also be prioritized.
