The Assistant Superintendent will be assisting the Superintendent in executing the construction process for assigned low-rise homes, ensuring all specifications are completed in time for the Pre-Delivery Inspection. This role involves overseeing the schedule and directing trades to ensure quality standards, adherence to building codes, and compliance with health & safety regulations.
This position is located at our Gateway Site in Caledonia, ON
What We Are Looking For:
- Post-secondary degree or college diploma in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in homebuilding residential construction preferably in low-rise
- Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code (Section 9), Ontario Health & Safety Regulations, and Tarion.
- A valid Ontario G driver’s license.
- Proficient in BuildPro and Microsoft Office Suite.

What You’ll Be Doing Each Day
- Monitors construction process from drywall to finish, providing technical guidance as needed to Trade and Labourers
- Conducts regular site inspections and reports as well as resolves any code violations, Trade deficiencies, material delays, safety breaches and other associated construction process challenges to Superintendent
- Executes full completion of the assigned home prior to the closing date 100% of the time, schedules PDI and manages Trades, Handy Persons (permanent &/or 3rd party staffing solution) to resolve list of deficiencies within the 30-day post inspection timeline
- Assists the Superintendent on scheduling and conducting the Frame walk with Homeowners, documents, and actions any approved specification changes/requests
- Support the Superintendent with homeowner occupancy transition (clean home; outstanding construction resolutions etc.) and hand-off to Customer Service for Tarion warranty items
