Part-time Early Learner Teaching Assistant Kumon West Shore - Langford
Kumon is the world's largest after-school learning program, with 3.5 million enrolments worldwide. It is an individualized study method that enables students to become self-learners.
We are currently seeking a part-time Early Learner Teaching Assistant at our Langford centre. This position is a great opportunity if you are considering a career in teaching or childcare or have previous experience in these fields.
Applicants must be available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 to 6:30p.m.
Qualifications
· Strong oral reading skills
· High school diploma or equivalent. Some university education is preferred
· Mature and detailed oriented
· Enjoy working with K to 5
· Team player
Specific Responsibilities
· familiarize earlier learners and new students with the centre routine
· learn the Kumon method and guide students to develop work skills
· sit with early learners to help them acquire basic math and reading skills such as phonics, counting and pencil skills
· grade and record students’ work
· prepare students' work-assignment folders
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
