Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering the development of young children in a nurturing and engaging environment. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of children aged 3 to 5 years, promoting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that align with the Montessori philosophy and the ELECT framework
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to support each child's development.
- Assess children's progress through observations and assessments, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive educational experience for all students.
- Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness while ensuring all materials are safe and accessible.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Follow all CCEYA, Ministry of Education, and Toronto Public Health regulations
Qualifications
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- Montessori training or willingness to learn and adapt to Montessori practices
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR Level C
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
- Up-to-date immunization and TB test
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
