Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various driving capacities, including commercial driving, shuttle driving, and delivery services. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and customer service while efficiently transporting goods or passengers.
Duties
- Operate a variety of vehicles including box trucks, tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and buses while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, routes taken, and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules and any issues that arise during transit.
- Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with passengers or clients during transport.
- Assist in route planning to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle assigned.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving or related fields such as shuttle driving or delivery driver roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating heavy equipment, including but not limited to dump trucks, flatbeds, tankers, and heavy haul vehicles is an advantage.
- Experience with paratransit services or school bus driving is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on vehicles is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members are essential.
