The Canadian International Hockey Academy (“CIH Academy”) is a not for profit organization that operates a boarding school for students from grade seven to twelve with a unique focus on academic achievement and hockey development. Located in Rockland, Ontario CIH Academy recruits, educates and trains student-athletes from around the world. CIH Academy offers a world-class educational program in cooperation with Blyth Academy and an elite hockey program in professional-level facilities. CIH Academy challenges its students in the classroom and on the ice, developing young athletes’ minds, bodies and spirits, while preparing them for post-secondary education and beyond.
A Dorm Parent at the CIH Academy is in loco parentis and ensures the social, physical, academic and emotional well-being of each student in the dormitory and endeavours to develop a relationship of mutual trust and respect with each student. A Dorm Parent during their shift stays in the dormitory and is responsible for the proper functioning.
Ideally, we are searching for a Dorm Parent that will be able to fulfill another position within the Academy such as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach. To succeed in this position you will be committed and enthusiastic, flexible with strong organizational skills. You will have good communication and team building skills as well as the ability to form and manage relationships with staff, students and families. You will be genuinely interested and have experience working closely with teenagers. You must be available to work evenings and weekends and have the ability to take emergency phone calls.
