We have an immediate opening for a Dock Supervisor at our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Terminal
Full-time Overnights (6pm-6am on a rotating Schedule: 4 on/4 off)
Job Duties entail:
- Able to give and receive Constructive Criticism, and lead a team by example
- Responsible to watch for/address any safety concerns
- Ensure KPI screens are read and itemize freight
- Effective communication with Management, Dispatch & Staff, and able to assign work
- Ensure proper equipment is utilized for outbound lanes, and facilitate units for loading/unloading
- Ensure all dedicated LTL deliver & straight trucks are loaded for early am cutoff time
- Ensure expectations are met to attain Reweigh & Cube goals
- Attend any planned meetings and respond to correspondence & voice mails within agreed timelines
What we need from you:
- A Willingness to Work! Dependability & a Good Attitude are key
- Reliable Transportation - must be living in the area
- Experience working in a transportation warehouse environment, formal Supervisory Experience an asset
- Experience Loading/Unloading trailers operating a counter-balance forklift
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Experience and understanding of the Truck Mate system is an asset
- Ability to use scanners, paperwork where required
- Responsible to watch for/address any safety concerns
- Strengths in Conflict Resolution, Time Management, Multi-tasking
- Ability to work Safely in a fast-paced team environment
- Safety boots/shoes
- Clean criminal background
