Dishwasher Part Time with Tips

DISHWASHER

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the following duties:

• Collects used dishware from dining and kitchen areas 
• Follows kitchen safety guidelines and procedure 
• Adheres to company policies 
• Loads and unloads dishwashing machine 
• Washes specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots, and delicate equipment) 
• Stores clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately 
• Ensures there are always enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils - especially during peak hours 
• Works efficiently and always maintains a clean and organized work area  
• Is aware of cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents), and replaces any when empty 
• Prioritizes kitchen equipment when it is needed quickly by cooks or bakers 
• Checks washing machines’ operation and promptly reports any technical/performance issues to their Chef or supervisor 
• Removes garbage, recycling, and compost regularly 
• Helps wipe down tables and keep the café seating area clean and tidy 
• Sanitizes the kitchen area, including the floor 
• Assists putting deliveries away if needed 

*Other duties and special projects may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma
• 1-year similar experience

Soft Skills:

• VERY passionate about coffee and food
• Knowledge of specialty coffee, coffee and food trends and café operations
• Attention to detail, able to present digestible information effectively
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively to achieve results
• Interest and desire to work in the specialty coffee industry
• Ability to build strong internal working relationships and be an effective communicator
• Have a “no job is too small” mentality: you roll up your sleeves, boldly jump in and get it done! 
• Have ability to see a project through from beginning to end while demonstrating the ability to both multi-task effectively and prioritize tasks

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.25 per hour
