Responsibilities of the Director, Strategy & Planning
Reporting to the Vice President, Client Relations (CRS) and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), the Director, Strategy and Planning oversees APS operations to ensure alignment with the corporation’s business strategy. The role requires a high degree of interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure collaborative relationships are developed and maintained at all organizational levels, as well as with external Vendors, Clients, the Executive Team and the APS Corporate Board.
As a member of the CRS management team, the Director provides vision and direction for the Strategy and Planning area and the development of the Business Plan, Strategic Plan, Client Shared Roadmap, and Service Delivery Plans.
- Working with key stakeholders on developing the annual project portfolio to ensure strategic alignment and appropriate timelines.
- Collaborating and reporting to the Executive team on initiatives, risks and strategic priorities to ensure all risks to the corporation are identified and tracked, budgets are established, and timelines are identified for resource planning and prioritization.
- Facilitating regular meetings with internal stakeholders to identify priorities and future timelines for strategic initiatives.
- Establishing annual budgets and tracking budgets monthly, reporting results to the CSO and the executive team.
- University Degree and 5 years director-level experience; or
- Diploma with 7 years of director-level experience; or
- Certificate and 10 years of director-level experience;
- Success in leading and facilitating strategic planning initiatives for an organization
- Project/program delivery, operational and strategic planning, client relationship excellence, resource management.
- Business Planning and estimation
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
