Job Summary:
This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer-Economic Services. The Director of Onion Lake Energy is a senior leader responsible for overseeing the Onion Lake energy-related operations. They manage the day-to-day activities of the department, including strategic planning, budgetary oversight, and implementation of programs within the nation's energy sector. The Director of OLE will also provide technical advice and recommendations to Chief and Council on Energy-related matters.

Qualifications:
• A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field is often required, such as engineering (mechanical, electrical), energy management, business administration, geology or environmental science.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the energy sector, particularly in areas like energy management, renewable energy, or energy policy, is typically needed.
- Experience leading teams, managing projects, and developing and implementing strategies is crucial.
- Technical background in reservoir engineering, exploitation, drilling, oil and gas operations or reserves is an asset.
- Oil and gas economics or modelling
- Some positions may require specialized knowledge, such as experience with specific energy technologies, regulatory frameworks, or project management methodologies.
- An understanding of First Nations culture and practices
