Job Summary
The Estimator Coordinator plays a crucial role in the construction project lifecycle by managing and coordinating the estimating process. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, negotiate prices, and ensure that all estimates are accurate and comprehensive. The Estimator Coordinator will work closely with project managers to support the bidding process and contribute to the successful execution of projects.
Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and STACK to create, manage, and analyze estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project specifications and requirements.
- Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms.
- Review plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates and related documents for future reference.
- Assist in project management tasks as needed to ensure timely completion of bids.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating techniques and methodologies.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors.
- Familiarity with estimating software such as Bluebeam, STACK and HeavyBid.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
