Job Description

Position Summary

The Director of Corporate Marketing is responsible for developing the strategy, framework, policy and procedures to drive omni-channel lead generation, within assigned budgets. This will include defining business requirements on Growth Marketing initiatives in the form of epics, user stories, and process flows, building relationships with various business stakeholders, understanding business priorities, and obtaining the necessary project funding for project execution.

The position would generally be responsible for managing 2-5 direct reports and will partner with cross-functional business stakeholders to define growth marketing omni-channel strategy. It has accountability for product and channel success with the other parts of the Marketing Demand Generation Teams, including Marketing Orchestration and Marketing Execution Teams. The Director must therefore have a strong understanding of the vacation ownership business and be able to translate business strategy into omni-channel requirements including digital requirements for websites, mobile apps, and other digital platforms.

Expected Contributions

The Director of Marketing holds the ownership of the budget and channel expectations as detailed:

  • Responsible for overall planning and prioritization of the following products/channels/campaigns:
    • All marketing efforts on MVW websites (Owner and Marketing) and Partnership websites
    • Third -party related marketing efforts, digital channels
    • Owner and non-Owner Digital opt-in efforts
    • Onsite digital capture (Wi-Fi promotions, etc.)
    • Affinity-related marketing efforts, especially the relationship with Marriott International on MI-owned digital channels
    • Third-party social media digital campaigns and performance management
    • Other omni-channel opportunities
  • Oversight of digital performance marketing analysis across all digital channels and efforts
  • Product/Channel/Campaign Strategy – Develop comprehensive strategies, associated user stories, business requirements, process flows, and expected performance proformas for the assigned products/channels/campaigns. Partners with various cross-functional stakeholders and peers to build and maintain a strong network of relationships and then leverage these relationships to achieve:
    • Product/Channel/Campaign Definition – creation of epics and user stories in a format easily used for prioritization, sprint planning, development, and production support. Establish procedures to ensure these artifacts are stored into the Product Backlog, which is maintained by the Marketing Demand Generation Execution Team.
  • Product/Channel/Campaign Accountability – Responsible and accountable for the KPIs associated with assigned products/ channels/campaigns; this includes the specific financial deliverables for both cost and revenue. The Director liaises with the AVP Marketing to establish the annual budget for the assigned products/channels/campaigns and is held accountable for budget achievement.
  • Product/Channel/Campaign Prioritization – Contributes to the Orchestration process by providing documentation and input into the project prioritization process, including the process of recommending – based on a defined strategy backed by data and insights – priorities for assigned products/channels/campaigns.
  • Product/Channel/Campaign Marketing Mix and Yield Optimization – Provides a data-informed point-of-view and clear plan outlined detailing the marketing mix and yield management required to maximize the revenue potential of customers engaging with the Director’s assigned the products/channels/campaigns. Collaborate with the Orchestration Team to achieve agreement across Marketing Demand Generation leadership to coordinate yield management.
  • Product/Channel/Campaign Build Process – Provides timely, evidence-based input based on data and insights, and consults/ provides direction (as appropriate) on the product backlog and advises on user stories for the next sprint based on business strategy.
  • Product/Channel/Campaign Development – Attends M&S Execution meetings to understand development progress, and to act as arbiter for feature questions that arise on assigned products/channels/campaigns.
  • Product/Channel/Campaign Quality – Provides acceptance criteria for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and reviewing UAT plans to ensure the inclusion of appropriate stakeholders. On review, determines the compliance for assigned products/channels/campaigns meeting the business requirements outlined.
  • Product/Channel/Campaign Optimization – Analyses data and analytics received from assigned products/channels/campaigns and creates lead generation plans to optimize on the improvements / changes identified.
  • Product/Channel/Campaign Marketing - Collaborates with internal partners to effectively communicate products/channels/ campaigns benefits, features, and strategies to internal and external users as appropriate.
  • Responsible for managing, developing, and hiring talent for this specialty team.
  • Manage work assignments for Vendor assigned resources
  • Ensure productive working relationships with internal business partners, external consultants, and vendors

Candidate Profile

Education

  • College degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Digital, Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, or 3+ years’ experience in related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ functional experience within Sales and Marketing.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience with MVW or Industry competitor; Timeshare product knowledge and experience an advantage.
  • 6 – 8 years of Digital experience required
  • 6 to 8 years of omni-channel marketing experience required
  • 3 – 5 years of product / channel management experience, preferred
  • Solid understanding and command of digital software development tools including creation of user stories and backlog management
  • Proven track record of consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations
  • Demonstratable passion for producing outstanding work, delivered on time and on budget.
  • Expert knowledge in project management and implementation.
  • Superior communication skills in order to effectively report to end users and senior management in a verbal or written format.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct several distinctly different projects simultaneously, involving various operational units, systems, cultures, and balancing teams composed of a wide variety of skill sets.
  • Ability to apply current knowledge to a wide variety of software programs and technologies.

  • Ability to learn complex product rules or functions (including technical platform features) and to then capture and share those rules and functions using digital software development tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across levels, across disciplines, throughout field / market and regional / corporate.
