Wilson College of Leadership & Civic Engagement is an interdisciplinary academic unit at McMaster University, supported by the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences. Offering a Combined Honours BA in Leadership & Civic Studies and Another Subject, Wilson College is dedicated to developing ethical leaders capable of shaping a sustainable future for Canada and beyond. In addition to the undergraduate program, Wilson College supports a range of research, learning, and public engagement initiatives.
Wilson College is looking to hire a Digital Media Assistant to help grow our online presence and visual content. We’re seeking someone who is creative, reliable, full of ideas, and comfortable working independently. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating eye-catching content that highlights student life, events, and what’s happening at Wilson College.
Job Summary:
Provide support in the planning and execution of digital and new media content.
Accountabilities:
- Assist in the production of photo/video content for internal and external promotional efforts.
- Execute graphic design projects from conceptualization to delivery.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to organize and execute creative content needs (including photoshoots, filming, etc.)
- Collaborate to maintain detailed content calendar to produce digital elements in a timely manner, while meeting the overall strategic goals of the department.
- Develop and implement an organizational method for all stored content.
- Assist in maintaining department/ team social media accounts.
- Execute sponsorship activations into graphics/video/digital content.
Hours of Work:
Hours of work are typically 10 hours per week. Additional hours may be available during peak times, including recruitment fairs (Fall Preview) and other special events.
Qualifications:
Education: Current McMaster student (undergraduate or graduate).
Experience: Minimum 3-months experience in photography and/or videography, as well as proficiency in digital design programs.
