Overview:
The Masterminds Daycare is currently seeking a dependable and organized Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in our care. This role is essential in supporting the health and well-being of our children by providing safe, balanced, and age-appropriate meals in accordance with Alberta Health Services and daycare licensing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks following an approved menu and nutrition guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food handling regulations
- Monitor food inventory and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies as directed
- Follow the daycare’s schedule to ensure meals are served on time
- Maintain accurate records for food temperatures, cleaning, and allergy logs
Requirements:
- Valid Food Handling Certificate (required)
- Previous cooking experience in a daycare, school, or similar setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of safe food preparation and storage practices
- Ability to follow menus and dietary guidelines
- Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Search
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
