Title: Day Program Manager
Position Status: Full-time Permanent (Non-Union)
Schedule: 40 hours per week (flexibility required)
Reports to: Senior Director of Developmental Services

The Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf (formerly the Bob Rumball Centre for the Deaf) was the first facility of its kind, and for over 30 years has provided the Deaf Community a space without communication barriers. Within this space an educational, independent living, and a social environment for the Deaf has blossomed. From its starting point as a community recreation facility, the Bob Rumball Centre has expanded into offering a range of specialized services to those within the Deaf Community that require support. These include seniors’, those with developmental, physical, health, or mental health issues, infants and young children, and newcomers to Canada. About the Role:
As the Day Program Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and overall management of our Day Program. You'll ensure the quality and safety of services, develop and supervise staff, and champion the goals of every Consumer in our care. You'll also work closely with families, stakeholders, and community partners to foster meaningful opportunities for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Management
- Supervise and mentor Day Program staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture
- Oversee staff scheduling, timesheet processing, and performance management
- Ensure training, compliance, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures
Program Oversight
- Manage daily operations and respond to emerging issues in the Day Program
- Develop and monitor Individual Program Plans (IPPs) for clients
- Support Consumers in engaging, safe, and inclusive activities that promote learning, independence, and fun
- Approve Consumer schedules and maintain strong relationships with families
Administrative Duties
- Coordinate intake processes and assessments for new clients
- Maintain records, track attendance, and contribute to board reporting
- Manage program purchases, documentation, and packaging contracts
Health & Safety
- Promote and ensure a safe and respectful working environment
- Lead workplace safety practices, including training, inspections, and incident investigations
- Participate in creating and maintaining safety procedures and physical demands analyses
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in a related field (e.g. Developmental Services, Social Work, Psychology)
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, dual diagnosis, and physical/medical needs
- Prior experience in staff supervision and program management
- Advanced sign language skills and familiarity with Deaf culture strongly preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Valid Class G driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle
