Data I/O Operator

Primary Purpose of the Job:
The Data I/O Operator will work with the department supervisor to facilitate the ingest, transfer and back up of all incoming data. They will work to pre-determined workflow guidelines set up by the Data I/O Supervisor and Picture Operations Manager. Each Technician will also provide input that continually looks to build on processes that improve output quality, productivity, and efficiency. They will be required to work across multiple software packages and hardware products.
Responsibilities:
- Manages all Original digital assets coming in and out of building.
- Ingest and write data to multiple formats.
- File asset management and transfer
- Routing files to proper storage assignments
- Follow Clients specs to create library logs and Meta Data manifests for each asset created.
- Manage data space across Internal NAS storage.
- Work with Engineering/Systems to make sure equipment is properly maintained and functional
Qualifications:
- Working Knowledge of Library database and LTO configurations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to create an immediate rapport with a range of staff.
- Ability to understand client and staff needs and priorities
- Good organisational skills
- Strong general knowledge of production and post production techniques
- A good understanding of computers to a level of experience in common applications, and the main operating systems (Windows, Mac and Linux).
