Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator serves as the primary communication hub for the operations team and truck drivers, focusing on optimizing efficiency and streamlining business processes.
Job Duties
- Lead and manage a team of customs specialists, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Oversee all aspects of customs compliance activities, including both import and export processes.
- Ensure the team accurately classifies products, prepares customs documentation, and submits customs entries in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve processes within the customs compliance function.
- Implement best practices to drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Provide ongoing training to the customs team on customs laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Support the professional development and skill enhancement of team members.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, such as logistics, procurement, and finance, to align customs compliance efforts with overall business objectives.
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve customs-related issues and challenges.
- Prepare and analyze reports on customs compliance metrics to track performance.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on the status and performance of customs compliance activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external partners on customs compliance matters.
- Address inquiries and resolve issues related to customs documentation and processes.
Job Requirements
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Business, Supply Chain Management, or Customs Compliance) is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in customs compliance, with a track record of successfully leading team members is required.
- Extensive knowledge of customs laws, regulations, and international trade agreements.
- Strong leadership capabilities and experience in team management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
