The Salmar Community Association is a non profit association that was established in 1949 which is now known as the Salmar Classic theatre on Alexander street in downtown Salmon Arm. The Association opened up the Salmar Grand 4 plex Cinemas in 1997 on Hudson.
Job Description:
The Salmar Cinemas is currently looking to fill one cleaner/janitor position for the Salmar Grand Cinemas at 100 Hudson Ave NW in Salmon Arm. This position will perform a full range of custodial duties related to the cleaning of assigned building and facilities.
Will receive supervision from Management team, may receive functional/technical or direct supervision from the senior janitor.
Duties of this position include:
-Cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing the main lobby, concession area, auditoriums and hallways.
-Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals, toilets; wash windows, mirrors, and walls; replenish supplies in restroom.
-Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax and polish the floors.
-Empty, clean and sanitize waste receptacles
-Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications for this position:
-Understanding methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work.
-Safe work practices and WHMIS.
Ability to:
-Clean and care for assigned areas and equipment
-learn to use a variety of custodial equipment, supplies and materials.
-work independently in the absence of supervision
-understand and follow oral and written directions
-communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

- One year experience in a janitorial position
