We are currently seeking a full time Custodian to provide cleaning and maintenance services across our four locations in Lake Country and Kelowna.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties:
- Follow established daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean throughout all clinic areas
- Deep clean restrooms and restock supplies (refill soap, sanitizer, per products)
- Clean and disinfect waiting areas, exam rooms, offices, kitchens, and break rooms
- Empty and reline garbage and recycling bins
- Maintain cleanliness in high-touch and high-traffic areas
Light Maintenance Tasks:
- Assist with rotating maintenance schedules
- Perform minor repairs (e.g., drywall patching, paint touch-ups, furniture fixes)
- Replace interior lightbulbs and basic door hardware
- Mount whiteboards, secure furniture, and assist with office setups
- Move office furniture or medical equipment as needed
- Conduct basic inspections of building systems (fire alarms, lighting, HVAC)
- Respond to occasional emergency callouts (e.g., water leaks, security alarms)
- Coordinate with external contractors for larger repairs or services
- Recommend repair options and source/pick up needed supplies
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of custodial or facility maintenance experience in a medical or similar environment
- Reliable, self-motivated, and committed to high-quality work with attention to detail
- Able to follow instructions and work independently without supervision
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and a professional attitude
- Physically able to handle routine custodial and maintenance tasks
- Physically capable of standing, bending, crouching, walking for long periods, and lifting 20–50 lbs as required
- Must have a valid driver's license with clean drivers abstract
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to pass a clear criminal record check
Hours of work may vary depending on operational needs, and will include occasional after-hours callouts for urgent maintenance issues.
