Cattleland Feedyards Ltd. is looking for a Herdsman to manage their 500 plus head cow herd. Cattleland is a large integrated agricultural company located 50 km east of Calgary. It offers an excellent benefit package as well as competitive wages. Accommodation can be provided if needed. The individual’s responsibilities will be the following:
- As Cow Manager, you monitor the fertility, health and nutrition of your herd with extreme precision. It also involves working with available forages, continual pasture checks in the summer, managing breeding, etc. Rotational grazing is practiced on the farm.
- There will be some baling of hay and straw and general operation of farm equipment.
