The City of Pitt Meadows is hiring a Court Liaison/Electronic Disclosure Clerk to review, process, and organize reports to Crown Counsel. This is an exciting opportunity to join our new RCMP detachment and help build something great from the ground up.

Reporting to the Manager of RCMP Support Services, this position acts as the liaison between members, various detachments, Crown Counsel and Court Registry personnel. They will consolidate and submit disclosure packages, while ensuring that they are complete and will not be dismissed for technical error or lack of evidence. They will respond to complex requests for disclosure of information and court orders, while ensuring all information deemed disclosable is organized in a logical and comprehensive format, following protocols and Memorandums of Understanding between Police and Crown Counsel. Considerable independent judgement is required, with complex matters being referred to a superior who also reviews work for conformance and effectiveness. This is not just a job – it’s a legacy. Regular working hours will be from Monday to Friday (shift times to be determined) with a 35-hour workweek. This position is anticipated to start in November/December 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by operational and legal courses related to the work plus considerable related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of evidentiary requirements, the Criminal Code of Canada and applicable Federal and Provincial statues and municipal bylaws.
  • Considerable knowledge of the criminal justice system and court procedures; and associated rules, regulations, and procedures regarding electronic disclosure packages.
  • Ability to organize, assemble, and redact electronic and hardcopy disclosure packages while ensuring packages are complete and comply with established protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective and tactful communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance.
    • Please note, the ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance is required by the start date, and is a condition of employment. If you have an active clearance, please indicate your HRMIS number on your application.
  • The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain Special Constable Status.
