As a leadership volunteer, you will be part of our committees of volunteers who will work over the months to help us organize our fundraising events. Depending on the needs in your community, available roles could include committee lead, logistics, community outreach, volunteer lead, and social media.

In this role, you will be supporting the efforts of the Canadian Cancer Society to raise critical funds to change the future for those living with cancer and beyond. The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for our volunteer Corporate Outreach Co-Leads to support our newest event, “Trivia Night.” Volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society is more than just a task or experience – it has a real impact. The Canadian Cancer Society is actively recruiting Corporate Outreach Co-Leads to join our team.
Brief Overview: Working in partnership with the CCS Staff Partner as a member of the Volunteer Committee, the Corporate Outreach Leads will provide recruitment, stewardship, and fundraising coaching support for our corporate teams. This role involves working collaboratively to help share the strategic direction of the “Trivia Night” event which includes identifying opportunities for event growth and success.

What we're looking for
Our successful Corporate Outreach Lead is:
- Passionate about making a positive impact in the community.
- A confident salesperson; willing and able to cold-call, deliver lunch-and-learn style presentations, and make pitches to corporate organizations and their teams.
- A strong leader with effective communication and organizational skills.
- A team player who can motivate others.
- Interested in planning events and working with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Committed to the confidentiality of all CCS records, business, and intellectual property.
- Able to dedicate 1-5 hours per week working on this event (with peak season taking place between December and April). This time commitment is flexible and will vary week-to-week. One week you may be pitching the event to a few companies, while the next week you may only be responding to emails.

Your commitment
As a Corporate Outreach Lead you can expect to work on the following
- Recruit corporate teams to participate in the Trivia Night event.
- Build pipeline of prospective corporate teams.
- Contact and recruit teams through phone, email and in person meetings; pitching the event by sharing event details, how they can sign up and why supporting CCS is so important.
- Attend corporate events as a CCS Representative with the objective of recruiting participants.
- Self-monitor progress towards goals.
- Identify and secure potential sponsorships.
- Support corporate teams’ engagement by building relationships with the teams you recruit to the event, providing coaching to help them reach their fundraising goals. Be on site for event day to oversee logistics and offer support.
- Works closely with CCS staff partner.
- Flexible to jump-in where needed on committee tasks.
