We are looking for a skilled and passionate African Ethnic Chef/Baker and Food Service Manager to lead our baking and food service operations. This dual-role professional will be responsible for creating and producing traditional and modern West African cuisines, African baked goods such as breads, pastries, and snacks while overseeing bakery operations, staff performance, inventory, and customer service.
Education & Experience:
- College Diploma or certificate in Business related field with a training certificate in baking, pastry arts, or African culinary Arts.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Business management and 2 years in baking, with demonstrated expertise in African ethnic baked goods.
- 2+ years of experience in food service or bakery management roles.

Culinary Duties:
- Design, develop, and execute authentic African menus representing regional diversity (
- Prepare and present high-quality meals in line with traditional and contemporary African culinary practices.
- Source and manage procurement of authentic ingredients and maintain supplier relationships.
- Train kitchen staff on African cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and presentation standards.
- Maintain food quality, consistency, hygiene, and safety in compliance with health regulations.
Food Service Management:
- Oversee daily kitchen and food service operations, including both back-of-house and front-of-house.
- Develop staffing schedules, assign duties, and supervise staff performance.
- Manage budgets, cost controls, and inventory to maximize profitability.
- Ensure excellent customer service and respond to guest feedback promptly and professionally.
- Implement and enforce sanitation standards and safety procedures.
Baking & Culinary Duties:
- Develop and prepare a diverse range of traditional and contemporary African baked products (e.g. agege bread, meat pies, puff puff, buns, egg role, meat pies, scotch egg etc.).
- Maintain the authenticity, quality, and presentation of all baked items.
- Experiment with recipes and innovate baked goods using African flavors, techniques, and ingredients.
- Source and maintain relationships with suppliers for high-quality, culturally relevant ingredients.
- Ensure all baking processes meet food safety and sanitation standards.
