Dietary Aide - Casual
For 75 years, St. Jude’s Anglican Home has been compassionately caring for older British Columbians. Located near Vancouver’s Cambie corridor, St. Jude’s is a not-for-profit Long-term care home providing Resident focused quality care to 55 seniors. We are now seeking to the fill the position of COOK – Casual on Call
Hours of work are:
05:45 - 13:45
13:45 - 18:30
Applicants must be available to work all shifts
Under the direction of the Director of Support Services, the Cook is responsible for the preparation of dinner and desserts as per the menu following standardized recipes. Responsibilities include serving, receiving food supplies, and maintaining a safe and sanitary work area.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Graduation from a recognized 12-month program in cooking or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
· Current Foodsafe certification level one (within 5 years)
· Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
· Ability to deal with others effectively
· Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
· Ability to organize work
· Ability to operate related equipment
Wage as per HEU Collective Agreement: $27.56
Availability for Shifts both weekends, weekdays and stat holidays
