SKILLS is a non-profit organization which provides a range of community–based supports to people with disabilities. Two part time Community Support Worker I positions alternate 16 hour weekends, Saturday and Sunday 1p-9p Our wages are competitive, and we offer paid training. Starting wage is from $19.00 hour and is commensurate with education and experience.
The ideal candidate needs to have previous disability support worker experience, be resourceful, knowledgeable of community programs, have good computer skills, energetic and experience assisting with personal care. This position entails creating and scheduling community-based activities, while ensuring that the individuals attend these activities. Comfort with and knowledge of senior care would be considered an asset.
This position is in Edmonton's downtown area. The residents are seniors but are still engaged, and active. The focus of this position will be to help all of the individuals access the community to do the things they enjoy.
