Community Support Worker (Maple Ridge)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a caring and dependable Community Support Worker to assist a friendly gentleman in his 50s with developmental disabilities. This role involves providing 1:1 support during community-based activities to promote independence, connection, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support during scheduled outings and activities
- Encourage participation in recreational and social opportunities in the community
- Ensure safety, dignity, and respectful support at all times
- Assist with personal care tasks if needed (e.g., hygiene, mobility, toileting)
- Administer medication as required and maintain clear daily documentation
- Communicate effectively with the family and supervisor
- Build a positive and responsive connection with the parent to support care needs and coordinate activities
- Drop off the individual at home at the end of each shift
Requirements:
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector)
- Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance
- Clean driving record
- Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Patience, compassion, and a respectful, person-centered approach
Additional Notes:
- This is a fixed-schedule, ongoing position
- Must be comfortable with light personal care if needed
- Start date: ASAP
