The Opportunity:
Report to the Program Manager or their designate, the coordinator must be prepared to plan and coordinate all aspects of a community kitchen program for the tenants who live in the building. The coordinator will also develop a resource binder for the program; liaise with local community agencies, including other community kitchen providers and the local food bank. Services must be delivered in a manner consistent with Atira’s philosophy and take into consideration all forms of oppression facing the women and children who access Atira’s services.

You are familiar with colonialism especially as it applies in Canada, and you understand the impact of the residential school system. You are committed to working with people who are struggling with substance use and or mental wellness and understand and are comfortable working within a harm reduction environment. A degree, diploma or certificate in a related subject combined with relevant workplace experience and skill-based training
- A valid First Aid Certificate is required
- Food Safe Certificate is required
- Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificate is an asset (achieved or upgraded in past 12 months)
- Ability to fulfill the physical demands of the job
- A valid Life Skills certificate is an asset
- All positions are subject to a criminal records review (Paid by Atira)
- Covid-19 (Including Booster) and annual flu vaccinations are recommended
