We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and collaborative professional to join our team as Community-Based Sexual Violence Services Coordinator. This is a role for someone who enjoys community engagement, delivering workshops, and is eager to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead our community-based sexual violence initiatives at Family Plus, including supervising volunteers for our Hospital Accompaniment Program, delivering workshops in the community, leading our Sexual Assault Team, and growing Sexual Violence Services in our area to better meet the needs of survivors.
- Collaborate with community partners, groups, and individuals to provide education and information on sexual violence.
- Develop and deliver workshops on sexual violence prevention, response, and awareness.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers who accompany survivors to local hospitals.
- Work closely with the Sexual Violence Team to ensure seamless, trauma-informed support.
- Conduct intake assessments and connect clients to appropriate community services.
Who You Are:
- Passionate and professional
- Comfortable presenting in front of groups and facilitating discussions (in person and virtual)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Creative, solution-focused team player
- Knowledgeable in areas of mental health, and crisis response is preferred
- Skilled in relationship-building with diverse stakeholders
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Available to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Knowledge and experience in the field of gender-based violence, particularly violence against women; feminist principles and a demonstrated commitment to the eradication of gender-based violence
- Experience in project coordination and service delivery management
- Experience in program development, research, and evaluation is an asset
- Self-directed, takes initiative, creative, and adaptable; able to work in a team and independently
- Possess a current Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check
- Driver’s license and vehicle
