CNC Mill and Lathe Machinist -- Vaughan
HOURS: Monday - Friday (7:15am – 3:45pm)
HOURLY SALARY: $30/hour and above-negotiable depending on skill +benefits +bonus -PERMANENT
Established, Successful, GROWING High Quality Precision Machine Parts Shop (manufacturing and fabrication) seeking Experienced CNC Mill and Lathe Machinist.

Job Summary – CNC Mill and Lathe Machinist
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, layout, metal properties and machining procedures. Knowledge of FANUC control is required (programming on the machine directly). Basic knowledge of Manual Machining an Asset.
Responsibilities:
- Set-up machine parts on CNC Mills and Lathes. ASSET – Manual Mill & Lathe Machine Operation.
- Set-up, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variations to perform precision machining operations.
- Complete turning, milling, drilling and tapping operations.
- Proficient with FANUC control readouts and programming.
· Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on to machine.
· Work from sketches, verbal, and print information in order to produce projects according to specifications.
· Select the appropriate tools and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
· Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, depth micrometers, inside diameter gauges, and outside diameter gauges.
· Work in a safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards.
· Perform other related duties as assigned or required; Optional Overtime – when needed includes weekends.
Qualifications, Requirements, Skills:
- Minimum three (3+) years of experience in machining environment.
- Ability to Read and Interpret Blueprints to ensure parts are being made according to specifications.
- Ability to hold tight Machining Tolerances; Ability to understand various Tooling Technology.
- Active Listening – Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, working well with people.
- Strong Attention to Detail and Accuracy; Good Organizational skills; Self Starter; Basic English Language Skills.
