JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, performs purchasing, secretarial, clerical, scheduling and booking functions in support of the Occupational Therapy Team and other designated team members. Duties include completing and processing purchase requisitions and applications for funding by third party payors, maintaining related records on a variety of department supplies & equipment, contacting designated external vendors to place specialty orders and obtain medical product information, updating computerized inventory databases as well as typing technical and non-technical material utilizing word processing and spreadsheet software, preparing for patient visits, scheduling and booking patient appointments, and processing program petty cash in accordance with established procedures.This work is framed within VCH’s commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Grade 12, two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to keyboard at 40 w.p.m.Knowledge of medical terminologyAbility to communicate both verbally and in writing.Ability to organize work.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the job.Ability to deal with others effectively.Ability to operate related equipment.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
