Based at our Lethbridge plant location, we are seeking for a Class 1 Driver for a 12 month contract. The Class 1 Driver is responsible for safely operating company vehicles while following instructions or scheduled routes from the Fleet Dispatcher and Fleet Superintendent. The role requires the delivery of exceptional customer service when interacting with customers. Often viewed as the face of the Company, Drivers are expected to act professionally both on the road and at locations of service when dealing with customers and the public.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive and follow scheduled routes based on instructions from the Fleet Dispatcher and/or
- Ensure the safe and proper handling of deadstock pick-up from customers
- Maintain equipment and spill response kits, and follow Clean and Disinfect standard operating procedure guidelines
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection checks
- Ensure site is clean prior to and after departure when collecting from customers
- Unload trucks and offloading raw materials as necessary
- Report issues or concerns related to vehicle maintenance, damaged containers/bins/equipment or customers to the Fleet Superintendent/Dispatcher in a timely manner
- Operate all equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow safety protocols and other procedures as dictated by WCRL or the customer’s requirements
- Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands
- Work overtime as instructed to ensure minimal downtime of facilities
- Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies
- Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor
- Possession of a valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a clean abstract
- 3 years of experience in commercial trucking or similar environment or industry
- Strong knowledge of the Southern Alberta area
- Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
- Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
- Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily
- Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odours and animal by-products
