Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, freight handling, and commercial driving regulations. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the cargo.
MUST have experience with load securement using straps and or chains and boomers.
MUST speak clear and concise English.
MUST respect our trucks and equipment.
MUST make safety and customer service a priority.
MUST have experience with pipe, skids and irregular freight.
Duties
- Operate trucks to transport freight to various locations while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and cargo information.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transportation.
- Perform basic automotive repairs and maintenance on the truck as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all company policies regarding safety, security, and environmental practices.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and regulations.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts is a plus.
- As a contractor, WCB is mandatory.
- Excellent English communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Must have a clean driving record and pass background checks as required by the company. Must be able to provide proven experience letter from current or previous employer.
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends if necessary.
