The Early Childhood Educator, under the direction of the Director will work as a full-time member of the Hinton Children’s Learning Centre team. The Early Childhood Educator will assist the Program Team in delivering high quality child care and summer programming to the children enrolled. The Early Childhood Educator will work with team members in a broad range of roles; working in programs with children ranging in age from 12 months to 6 years. The Early Childhood Educator is responsible in assisting their team in providing diverse basic care needs including supplying proper nutrition and performing cleaning duties.
Job Duties
- Supports the program team in the implementation of the program statement
- Acts as an appropriate role model
- Monitors the health and safety of the program, children and staff
- Recognizes and responds to the needs of the group and the individual
- Recognizes, respects and responds to diversity within the program
- Serves nutritious snacks to the children using proper food handling techniques
- Maintains play environments, kitchen and storage areas in organized clutter-free and sanitary condition
- Assists with laundry, toy/equipment disinfecting
- Functions effectively as a team member
- Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills
- Maintains a professional appearance, demeanour, and attitude at all times
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all interactions
- Protects the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately
- Performs other reasonable duties that may be assigned
Qualifications
- Valid Standard first aid with CPR level C certification
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector police check and early intervention check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50-$17.00 per hour
