Extra Ed is an exciting, successful social enterprise with two main goals. One is to develop and deliver meaningful, innovative and engaging educational programs that teach essential life skills and create a positive impact on program participants, their families and their communities. The other is to engage in practices and actions which have a positive impact on human society and the natural environment.
Extra Ed is currently seeking energetic, creative and collaborative chess teachers to join our team of program leaders.
Responsibilities
- Teaching groups of school-age students in schools and community centres across the GTA
- Prepare for program delivery by attending paid training sessions, organizing teaching materials, performing light administrative tasks and other preparatory duties
- Be responsible for the safety and well-being of program participants
- Provide customer service to participants' families
- Maintain excellent customer relations with hosting facilities
- Contribute to the development of program curricula, in collaboration with other team members
- Assist in the delivery of programs
- Potentially work at Extra Ed’s day camps and special events.
Requirements
- Strong chess skills
- OCT accreditation is a strong asset
- Experience in teaching is a strong asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Professional, punctual and productive
Details of work and Compensation
- Part-time position, flexible schedule.

Salary: $50.00-$80.00 per hour
