Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Banquet Chef to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes for our catering company while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have experience in catering and banquets and a strong understanding of kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute banquet food production for large-scale events.
- Develop and customize banquet menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef and clients.
- Supervise and train banquet kitchen staff, ensuring proper preparation techniques and adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering food and supplies as needed for banquet operations.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to the hotel/restaurant standards and customer expectations.
- Maintain budgetary guidelines for food costs and labor efficiency.
- Ensure banquet kitchen equipment is maintained and report issues promptly.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely food service and smooth event execution.
- Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations, including HACCP procedures.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training required.
- 3–5 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in banquet or catering operations.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
