POSITION TITLE: ELCC Program Coordinator – Community Enrichment Grant

ACCOUNTABLE TO: ELCC Manager of Family Supports under the Director of Education
Brief Overview:
Under the direction of the ELCC Manager of Family Supports, in the MN-S Ministry of Education, the ELCC Program Coordinator will lead planning, grant administration, and resource distribution to assist Métis Local communities to deliver safe, culturally grounded early learning programs within their community. This position is based at the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the MN-S early learning grant program.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with Métis locals across the province.
- Monitor applications.
- Support locals in the application process.
- Provide direction to early learning teams on the planning, development, and implementation of effective programs
- Develop and distribute early learning resource kits to Métis locals.
- Develop Briefing Notes for department and provincial discussions.
- Prepare and provide ongoing program supports and data to ensure successful project delivery and administration.
- Serving on committees as required
- Prepare reports which may include monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with early learning and education service providers across the province.
- Evaluate resources, advise on implementation, and research outcomes of new or existing programs.
- Other duties/responsibilities as determined by the ELCC Manager of Family Supports and the Director of Education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in Indigenous/Aboriginal studies, education, ECE, social sciences, and/or a relevant field.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working with Indigenous communities.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered, as long as it directly relates to the essential duties and responsibilities
- Advanced computer skills including knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office programs Outlook, Word, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven experience in a previous similar role
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building skills
- Budgeting skills, projection, and monitoring
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Willingness to work within a team environment
- Strong time-management skills along with the ability to prioritize daily tasks, organizational skills, and effective decision-making abilities
- Diligent with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain different topics
- Salesforce experience is an asset
- Knowledge of the structure and policies of federal, provincial, and MN-S governments would be an asset.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access reliable transportation
- Must undergo a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector
- Must be willing to travel to 4+ times per year within Saskatchewan.
