Overview
The Category Specialist will act as Walmart’s category expert by providing category & shopper insights and actionable go-to-market recommendations. They will work closely with Walmart’s merchant team to develop and grow total category sales by analyzing various data sources, identifying business insights, and recommending solutions. This position works as a strategic thought leader, imparting knowledge of the category and member to drive profitable business results. The applicant will work from home however will need to work
At the Wal-Mart Home Office and Innovation center located in Mississauga when needed.
Responsibilities:
· Category Strategy Development:
Creating and implementing comprehensive category strategies aligned with overall business goals.
· Performance Management:
Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, margin, and market share, and taking corrective actions as needed.
· Product Assortment:
Managing the product selection within the category, ensuring a relevant and competitive offering.
· Pricing and Promotion:
Developing pricing strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales and profitability.
· Supplier Relationship Management:
Collaborating with suppliers to optimize product sourcing, inventory management, and promotional activities.
· Market Research:
Analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities.
· Cross-functional Collaboration:
Working closely with other departments such as marketing, supply chain, and store operations to ensure successful execution of category strategies.

- Advanced Retail Link knowledge required.
- 5 years retail experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
