Case Manager, Housing First
Full Time, End Date March 31, 2026
It is the mission of Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI) to provide Inuit-specific programs that contribute to the health and wellbeing of Inuit, and to encourage and support similar programs for Inuit across the country. With over 30 years of highly successful experience in crafting the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of effective, client-centered services, TI continues to deliver quality programs and services that directly benefit our growing urban Inuit population.
The Case Manager, Housing First provides direct, intensive support to singles or families to create an individualized, client-centred service plan to help them achieve housing and life stability. The goal is to house people and then support them. Once housed, individuals may benefit from life skills training such as budgeting, cooking, cultural practices and addiction treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Advocates and makes referrals for clients to internal and external service providers;
- Assists clients in obtaining identification;
- Completes and submits all necessary housing documentation;
- Evaluates clients' progress and archives accordingly;
- Inputs all client data into the mandated reporting system;
- Organizes and maintains clients’ file folders under TI’s protocols;
- Acts as an ambassador for TI within and outside the organization by creating an awareness of TI’s programs and services;
- Participates in meetings, case conferences, and committees as required.
The ideal candidate should have knowledge of Inuit culture, values, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit and traditional practices. Knowledge of Indigenous and non-indigenous housing support and services system of Ottawa. Familiarity with the Ottawa region and its local shelters. Ability to work independently or in a group setting, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to function effectively in a busy environment and stressful situations. Maintaining awareness of, and compliance with, TI policies and procedures, at all times, working in a manner that preserves confidentiality and seeks to minimize risks for clients, employees and the organization is required.
Completion of Undergraduate degree, minimum college diploma in Human Resources, Social Work or related field is preferred.
Three years’ experience is preferred delivering related urban housing services, preferably to the Inuit Community is preferred.
Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, video-conferencing platforms and electronic records management applications and a clear Vulnerable Sector Check with results acceptable to TI is required. G License with a clear record is required, preferably with experience driving clients in some capacity. Availability to work evenings and weekends is preferred. Fluent in English is required and ability to speak Inuktitut is preferred. First aid / CPR; non-violent crisis intervention training is preferred.

Salary and Benefits
- Salary range is $54,000 to $60,000 annually
