We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Housing Case Manager to join our A Home for All Housing Program. This program provides safe and affordable housing for single individuals and parents who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or precariously housed. We are committed to using a client-driven, strength-based, gender-based, and trauma-informed approach in all that we do.
Hours: 37.5 Hours – Full Time – must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
Reporting Line: Reports directly to the Housing Services Manager.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills: A University or College degree or relevant education/training in Counseling and/or group facilitation/case management; fluent in English and French (preferred). Competence in computer applications is essential, minimum Microsoft Office Suite; and knowledge of web-based materials, databases, and social media.

- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals who are homeless, including trauma, addiction, and mental health issues.
- Knowledge of Community Service Organizations.

Position Duties and Responsibilities: Employee performs duties within established vision, mission, policy guidelines, goals and objectives, and has primary responsibility for delivery of various areas of work.
Agency
- Represent the YWCA by providing initial contact with visitors, guests, members and the community.
- Transfer information between staff, volunteers and public to ensure smooth running of operations.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs and workshops.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the strategic direction of YWCA Moncton.
- Advance the Mission of YWCA Moncton.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation of work environment, including office, and storage room/unit.
- All employees are to perform other duties as assigned that may, or may not, be directly related to their current position of employment.
Program Specific
- Work closely with supervisor, and other team members to ensure program outcomes are met.
- Ensure that housing participants are aware of programs and services provided at YWCA Moncton, as well as with other Community Agencies.
- Identify and develop additional resources for the program and its clients.
- Maintain communication with community partners and case workers.
- Ensure all program forms and documents are completed and signed by the supervisor when needed, filed and kept up to date.
- Participate in regular A Home for All Team meetings and take part in coordinated access meetings.
- Relay of appropriate information to A Home for All housing team and on-call team.
- Participate in the Emergency Cell on-call rotation.
Individual Client Work
- Provide active-listening, crisis management, and one-on-one sessions for participants, as needed.
- Conduct home visits and monthly home inspections, as required according to clients’ needs.
- Assist, encourage, and support participants in the identification of their personalised/self-identified action plans and the accomplishment of their personal goals.
- Keep detailed case notes of all clients, clearly documenting their needs, goals, and referrals made. Inputting these case notes into electronic systems (secure shared drive), printing them and filing them in a timely manner.
- Make appropriate referrals to outside service providers, when required.
- Consult with supervisor and A Home for All team regarding participants’ selection, progress, behavior, challenges, and supports required.
- Ensure participants are provided with furnishings, groceries, and personal items upon moving into their assigned housing unit.
- Assess the needs of participants and connect them with appropriate programs, services, and resources to help them transform their lives.
- Collaborate with community partners to ensure participants have access to essential services such as mental health support, addiction treatment, and employment opportunities.
- Advocate for participants’ needs within the housing system and broader community.
Data Collection and Reporting
- Keep and compile housing statistical reports for HPS, as well as YWCA.
- Ensure statistical reports are approved by the Housing Services Manager/Team Lead, before submission.
- Enter data into HIFIS.
- Maintain call log and return phone calls in a timely manner.
- Effectively and appropriately use technology and social media to meet project outcomes.
Special Condition of Employment: Must be able to successfully complete Criminal Record Check/ Vulnerable Sector Check, Social Development Check, First Aid Training and must have own transportation.
