We are looking to fill a permanent part-time/casual caregiver position at our small, 5-resident care home. This position is for mainly Saturday and Sunday, as well as occasional week days as needed. Applicants must be available to work every Saturday and Sunday. Please do not apply if this schedule does not work for you.
The ideal candidate is responsible, motivated, independent, has experience in healthcare/care home environments, is able to work alone, and has a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and personalized care to patients in our facility
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications accurately and timely
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families
- Prepare and serve 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner), as well as 2 snacks (afternoon and bedtime)
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields preferred
- Familiarity with medication administration and patient care techniques
- Knowledge of nursing home, home care, hospice care, or dementia care practices is a plus
- Ability to provide quality care with empathy and patience
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- The possession of a valid driver's license is an asset
Requirements:
- Food Safety certification
- First-Aid and CPR certification
- Clean criminal record check
