As a Breathing Air Systems Technician Assistant at CIMS LP, you will be a key contributor towards CIMS success by ensuring all CIMS’ breathing air systems are maintained as per technical specifications and provincial OH&S regulations while embodying CIMS corporate values of Our People, Our Promise, Our Passion.
This is a leave coverage position requiring exceptional attention to detail, problem solving, and communication skills to ensure the accurate management of documents and completion of compliance functions.
You will report to Breathing Air Systems Technician and be accountable for:
- Learning all facets of the CIMS Breathing air program, to support CIMS Breathing Air Coordinator during times of absence and to provide support to the field/warehouse.
- Maintaining the necessary inventory levels of supplies and tools to support production needs.
- Confirming that all equipment is in good working condition and meets calibration specifications as well as legislative requirements.
- Validating that all CIMS’ Breathing Air Systems are returned for mechanical inspection, repairs and certification as required.
- Ensure that detailed documentation, including Breathing Air Systems PM Records and Recertifications, are maintained at each of the applicable CIMS LP Office locations.
A successful candidate would be an individual with:
- 2-5 years’ experience working in a heavy industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of breathing air systems regulatory requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of various types of tooling found in a fabrication shop.
- Ability to read lists of products, stock numbers, quantities and prices.
- Strong inventory control and stock keeping capabilities.
Working conditions you can expect while performing your role includes:
- Work that takes place both indoors - in a well-ventilated fabrication shop with adequate lighting and temperature - and outdoors.
- Repetitive movement and lifting; frequent standing and walking are required.
- The frequent requirement to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials or environments.
- Travel to worksites may be required to operate, train, maintain and inspect breathing air systems.
- May be required to lift/move loads of up to 50lbs.
