Durham Psychotherapy is counselling and psychotherapy clinic that empowers individuals navigating mental health challenges and life transitions, helping them gain deeper insight into themselves and make changes in their lives. We work with individuals across the Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker, Psychotherapist, or Mental Health Therapist at a graduate level to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, a passion for helping others, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual, couples, and teen therapy sessions (both in-person at our Pickering office and virtually).
- Utilize evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, EFT, and trauma-informed approaches to support clients through various mental health challenges.
- Complete comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and document client progress in accordance with professional standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and best outcomes for clients.
- Maintain clear and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Actively participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Registration: Must be registered and in good standing with a relevant professional college (e.g., Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
Experience:
- Prior experience in a private practice or hospital setting is strongly preferred.
- Proven competence in evidence-based therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, EFT, and trauma-informed therapy).
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals, couples, and teens.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule to meet client needs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate: Starting at $90 per hour (commensurate with experience).
- Flexibility: Opportunity to tailor your schedule for virtual and/or in-person sessions based on client need. Clinician's will in-person availability will be preferred.
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: $90.00-$108.00 per hour
