Overview of Position Description:
Congruent with the sales and service team, this position is responsible for renewal analyses, renewal reports, market surveys, regular group set-up; quarterly experience reports as well as manages cases. This includes everything from routine administrative work such as filing and data entry to keeping abreast of all industry changes and research and providing recommendations.
EDUCATION:
Diploma or University Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics or equivalent; CEBS and Underwriting would be an asset
PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE:
10 - 15 years in an underwriting or analyst position

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS:
Detail-oriented, well organized, committed to accuracy, knowledge of group insurance, ability to problem solve, excellent communication skills, analytical oriented, must be willing to work overtime to meet deadlines
Duties & Responsibilities
1) Prepare Renewal Analyses and Reports (performed annually)
a) Analyze rate actions
b) Negotiate better rates if possible
c) Review plan design and recommend cost containment measures and/or
enhancements
d) Prepare reports
2) Complete Market Quotes
a) Collect information from the group ensuring completeness of all information
b) Prepare specifications that reflect plan design, claims experience, rate structure
c) Review quotes and determine best placement of new group
d) Prepare final report with recommendations including underwriting analysis, service features, claims management details and product recommendations
3) Case Management
a) Handle client inquiries
b) Initiate plan changes, amendments, provide cost containment strategies
4) Regular Group Setup
a) Review Master Application with Sales/Service Representative
b) Ensure applications have been filled out correctly and information is forwarded to insurance carrier
c) Coordinate with insurance carrier to set-up completion of booklets, contracts, wallet cards
d) Review booklets and contracts to ensure accuracy of plan design
5) Quarterly Experience Reports
a) Request and compile information from insurance carrier
b) Prepare spreadsheet with premiums and claims broken down by benefit
c) Prepare explanation letter explaining the current position of the plan
6) Miscellaneous Duties
a) Provide ongoing training and mentorship to other analysts relating to more complex underwriting arrangements
b) Facilitate with Manager and participate in weekly meetings
c) Research product information such as Insurance carrier changes, industry changes
d) Maintain renewal, market survey, correspondence and contract files
e) Maintain renewal listing/update renewal information
f) Update renewal reports and market surveys to reflect industry changes, corporate standards, new product offerings
g) Attend industry information webinars/seminars as requested

Pay: $66,631.00-$73,554.00 per year
