Job Title: French Language Instructor (On-site, Part-Time)
Apex Language and Career College (ALCC), a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) and Languages Canada-accredited school, is seeking a passionate and dedicated French Instructor to teach in our General French Program. This beginner-level course focuses on communication and comprehension skills, helping adult learners gain confidence in everyday French. This is foundational French programs which will help students learn basic vocabulary and grammar to build the basis for improving their French language skills.
Schedule:
- Weekdays, Monday to Friday
- Afternoon classes: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- On-site position in Halifax
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, communicative French lessons that focus on beginner-level speaking and comprehension
- Prepare lesson plans and materials that align with ALCC’s curriculum and student needs
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom that respects all cultural backgrounds
- Adhere to ALCC’s school policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Relevant post-secondary education and/or teaching credentials
- Experience teaching French as a second or foreign language
- Experience teaching adult learners
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfort working with learners from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and student success
