Job Summary
Reporting to the Front Store Manager/Owner, the Cosmetics Manager is a hands-on role responsible for the success of the Cosmetics Department.
Success in this role involves:
- Ensuring seamless customer service throughout the Cosmetics Department
- Developing and increasing cosmetic sales and profitability through effective product displays and both seasonal and daily promotional activities
- Delegating effectively to achieve daily results
- Managing and motivating staff
Customer Service
- Provide friendly and professional customer service
- Provide information, advice, application, counsel, and instruction for available beauty products
- Carry out sales transactions and returns courteously and accurately
- Ensure loss prevention systems and procedures are performed according to store policy
- Ensure daily sales targets are met by cosmetic department staff
- Train and coach, any other store personnel, or cosmetic staff to ensure a positive customer experience in your department
Merchandsing
- Ensure creative displays are implemented and rotated in the cosmetics department
- Maintain cosmetics signage for displays and regular sections
- Create a clutter free department with open aisles free of boxes and excessive displays
- Follow proper stock rotation procedures to ensure inventory with expiry dates are dealt with in a timely manner via return to the wholesale, sale pricing, or return to the vendor
Purchasing
- Utilize POS data to manage purchasing and inventory control
- Review monthly POS sales and make adjustments to the Cosmetic Open-to-Buy system, as required
- Access Pharmasave Portal on a regular basis
- Meet with Sales Representatives to place direct shipping orders, process returns and learn about new products
- Establish exit strategies for dated product
- Ensure all paperwork is processed with the appropriate store team member such as the POS Operator or store accountant/bookkeeper
Job Requirements, Skills and Competencies Education & Experience
- Two years of retail experience
- One year of management or supervisory experience
- Previous beauty counter experience considered an asset
- Strong computer and POS skills
- Good understanding of financial and operational information
- Strong organization and leadership skills
- Good attention to detail and ability to take initiative
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions
- • Standing for up to 8 hours
- • Lifting/moving up to 30 lbs may be required
- • Climbing a ladder may be required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour
