Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista / Server for a new "grab & go" cafe' located in Mississauga. As a Barista, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing high-quality beverages and prepared food items. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, sandwiches, salads & soups according to established recipes.
- Operate the POS system efficiently, to process transactions accurately.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing recommendations and ensuring satisfaction with their orders.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash handling practices.
- Assist in food preparation and serving, adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and dining spaces.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
Skills
- Previous barista experience is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with patrons.
- Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with the food industry and food service operations is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
