Oretta is looking for a Barista to join our team! The ideal candidate has a minimum of 1 year experience in a fast-paced, high-volume café or restaurant with excellent customer service skills, passion for hospitality, and a team-oriented environment.

About You
We are looking for a Barista to join our Oretta Caffe. The ideal candidate has experience in customer service, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can multi-task and bring a positive energy to our space. As a member the team you must be reliable, comfortable working for extended periods of time, be outgoing and inviting- if you have an outgoing personality, this position is for you! Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced dining establishment with guest interaction is an asset!
- Ability to make espresso-based coffees from a manual machine
- Understanding and passion for making Italian-based coffees and foam techniques, as well as Italian pastries
- Always keeping a clean and organized workspace
- Assisting with order inventory and restocking needs
- Smart Serve Certification
- Cash handling and understanding a POS system
- Good understanding of English language is required, knowing Italian is an asset!
Job description
- Reporting to the Manager on duty
- Assisting with Daily Opening or Closing the Caffe (cleaning and maintenance is essential to our role).
- Learning our menu and capable of communicating them to guests efficiently (allergens)
- Making espresso-based coffees manually, with expertise with coffee foam at a high volume
- Working in a high-volume environment, multi-tasking, organizing oneself to allow for a fast and smooth service with guests.
- Approachable personality, using a POS system to ring items in and processing payments accordingly
- Helping to clear, clean, and reset the caffe space after guest use
- Bringing a positive attitude and professional, reliable work ethic
- Being available early mornings
- Adhering to Caffe opening & closing checklists
- Adhering to Oretta Employee handbook
