Job Details
- Division: Shipping & Delivery
- Reporting Location: In-person - 11831 Cold Creek Road, Kleinburg, ON L0J 1C0
- Job Status: Part- time, Casual
- Estimated Hours of Work: 25 hrs per week (Potential to full-time based on business needs.)
- Shift Work Required: Yes, shift work may be required.
- Rate of Pay: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on license and probation status)
- Start Date: Start Date will follow selection process.
Please note that this position does not offer visa sponsorship; candidates must already be authorized to work in Canada at the time of application.
Main Responsibilities
- Drive and deliver products accurately and on time to customers.
- Load and unload products as per customer instructions.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and obtain required signatures.
- Perform duties in compliance with all transportation laws and regulations while ensuring safety.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, and property or equipment damage.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customer contacts.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and address minor issues as needed.
Physical Demands: (including but not limited to)
- Lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. repetitively over an approx. 8–10-hour workday.
- Maneuver large loads using tools like hand jacks or pallet jacks, requiring physical flexibility, agility, and strength.
- Work outdoors and handle varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Safely operate a vehicle in challenging conditions like icy or slippery roads.
Other Requirements
- Must be able to work long hours and travel long distances if required.
- Must be able to read and understand delivery report instructions.
- Must have some mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle maintenance.
- Proficient use of English; verbally and in writing.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate deliveries, paperwork, and customer instructions.
- Problem-solving skills to address minor vehicle maintenance and on-the-road challenges.
- Effective communication to interact with customers and team members.
- Effective time management to execute timely deliveries.
- Awareness of and comply with transportation laws and company regulations.
- The role includes an on-call component, where you may need to respond to emergencies or urgent tasks outside of regular working hours.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years possessing a valid Canadian DZ Commercial Driver’s License in Ontario.
- AZ Driver's License (preferred)
- 2+ years of delivery driving experience.
- A Driver’s record or abstract with no major violations or infractions.
- Satisfactory attendance and former employment history.
