About StackTeck Systems Limited
StackTeck has an Automation business located in Vaughan, Ontario. We design and make custom industrial automation systems, specializing in the injection molding industry. These systems can also include 6-axis robots, vision and case packing modules. Our goal is to give the successful applicant a wide range of hands-on exposure and experience in various areas of our business. This opportunity is open to 4 month and 8 month co-op terms for the Fall 2025 term.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Automation Co-Op Student at StackTeck, you will have the opportunity to do the following and much more:
- Hands on with assembling automation systems (Mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic)
- Supporting the supply chain/Inventory management group and learning the different types of components that go into designing and building industrial automation equipment.
- Designing and prototyping 3D parts with our in-house industrial 3D printer.
- Use of other fabrication equipment such as engravers.
- Use of CAD programs such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD for detailing, creating assembly drawings, miscellaneous facilities tasks.
- Spend approximately 10–20% of your time at our headquarters in Brampton (about 15 minutes from the Automation facility) to support CAD layouts and facility planning on the injection molding side of the business, with a focus on identifying and assisting with improvements to workflows and space utilization.
- Presently enrolled in a post-secondary Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, or related program
- Some hands-on experience in Assembly & Testing of Robotics (preferred)
- Proven mechanical aptitude and skill using hand tools (even in mechanical hobbies and/or personal interests)
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and knowledge of wiring and cable routing is beneficial
- Some experience using Solidworks, an asset
- Great attitude, willing to learn and make a contribution is key!
